Arsenal have come from behind to beat Manchester United 3-1 in the Womens Super League, thanks to a second-half penalty from Kim Little.

The Gunners fell behind to a fine finish from Lucia Garcia in the first half but equalised before the break through an own goal from United defender Ona Batlle.

Substitute Frida Maanum gave Arsenal the lead for the first time in the second half, before Little sealed the points from the spot after Nikita Parris was adjudged to have been fouled by Batlle.

The result moves Arsenal up to second in the table, two points behind leaders Chelsea, while United remain sixth.

United had the better of the opening exchanges and took a deserved lead in the 26th minute when Garcia latched onto a through ball from Ella Toone and fired low into the bottom corner.

Arsenal responded well and levelled in the 37th minute when Maanum's cross was turned into her own net by Batlle.

The Gunners continued to press after the break and took the lead in the 62nd minute when Maanum headed home from a Katie McCabe cross.

Little made the game safe in the 83rd minute with a penalty after Parris was brought down by Batlle

Conclusion: Arsenal's victory was a much-needed one after their defeat to Chelsea in their last game, and it moves them back into contention for the title.

United, meanwhile, will be disappointed to have lost after a promising start, but they remain in the hunt for a top-three finish.
